Still a relatively new brand, Legend Sleep launched to bring heightened luxury to the bedroom. However, this elevated comfort in the form of a luxury pillow or mattress comes with a bit of a price tag.

With a retail value of $140, is the Lugano pillow by Legend Sleep really worth the cost? I decided to find out.

Legend Sleep Innovative Comfort Technology

Legend Sleep uses something called talalay latex foam. It’s different than what we are used to for most of us who sleep on memory foam in a few ways.  The latex foam has a more springy, breathable feel. In contrast, memory foam is more stiff and traps temperature. It costs more for the latex foam material because it is several times more time consuming to manufacture. Additionally, the Legend Sleep products are (unlike most goods these days) made in the USA despite their Swiss design.

Despite the higher quality materials and design, the price stays relatively reasonable. This is because they cut out the middlemen such as physical retail stores, middlemen and markups.

Latex vs. Memory Foam

Latex is technically defined as any of several natural or synthetic colloidal polymers suspended in an aqueous solutions. Simply put, latex is rubber particles suspended in water. It’s harvested from the Havea brasiliensis, the rubber tree, as sap, similar to how maple sap is collected. Latex foam is very breathable, resists collapsing, and has a buoyant springy feeling. In contrast, memory foam is a petroleum-based product. Memory foam traps heat, doesn’t have much—if any—bounce, and has a quicksand like feeling.

The Lugano Luxury Pillow by Legend Sleep

Personally, I am a side sleeper who typically sleeps with half a dozen pillows just to attend at being comfortable. And, I use both memory foam and real feather pillows normally. However, after I tried the Lugano pillow by Legend Sleep, I noticed that all I needed was one to get a good night’s rest. It was firm, unlike feather pillows that sunk my head in. But, it also had a springy feeling that foam doesn’t have.

Conclusion

Investing in a $140 seems like a lavish use of money. However, when it comes to sleep, I think that money shouldn’t be an object. After all, we spend a huge chunk of our lives sleeping and it’s vital to our health. Ensuring yourself the highest possible level of comfort during you 40 winks each night should be everyone’s priority. This pillow would be an excellent gift for a loved one suffering from insomnia or neck pains from discomfort during their slumber.
