Have you heard about the new 2019 Volvo S60?
When we first heard about the new Volvo S60, we were intrigued to learn more about the hybrid “Polestar” version. For 2019, Volvo offers a 415hp sedan exclusively through its Care by Volvo subscription program. Get this - the 2019 Volvo S60 luxury car only costs $1,100 a month and includes 15,000 annual miles, maintenance, service, and insurance. But here’s the catch… Only 20 of them are coming to the U.S. Talk about exclusive!
What’s Different About the 2019 Volvo S60?
The 2019 Volvo S60 is even more limited than its predecessor, the V60. While the V60 introduced a couple hundred vehicles to the US in 2014, the S60 has reached a record high level of scarcity. If that sounds appealing, unfortunately you’re out of luck for now. Reservations for the 2019 Volvo S60 were taken on June 28th and all 20 cars were snatched up in a matter of just 39 minutes. Apparently, the temptation to acquire such a rare car is strong among Americans.
For the next 200 S60 R-Design subscribers, Volvo offered a free Polestar engine software upgrade. This improves throttle response and affects the transmission, resulting in a faster speed for gear shifts, and you can hold gears for longer. While not quite as exclusive, the engine software upgrade still offers a certain level of prestige not available to other drivers on the road.
What Do You Do If You Want A 2019 Volvo S60?
So here’s the million-dollar question. Or should we say $35,800? Well, at this point, the only way to get a 2019 Volvo S60 with good hp is by way of the standard 400-hp T8 hybrid. This will set you back $55,395. Just so you know, you will miss out on the Polestar version’s brakes, strut bar, and dampers. All in all though, you still get a fast, stylish vehicle.
