The couple decided to build the hotel in 2010 and designed it themselves, whilst ensuring they kept the colonial style in the town. Three years later, the hotel opened and has since been nominated as a number one accommodation in Leon by their customers every year.

The hotel is doing everything they can to become more energy efficient, and utilize social panels to help make a positive impact on the environment. With 180 of them installed with a capacity of 50 Kw, they store the excess energy during the daytime in a battery bank and use it during the night. All of their hot water is produced by solar heating panels which are stored in hot water tanks. Also, the hotel uses energy-saving LEDs for all of their lights. After guests leave their room/apartment, the automatic interrupters cut off the electricity in case people forget to turn their lights off.

The hotel is also doing all they can to reduce waste. As a result, organic waste is collected and used as food for employees’ pets. All plastic bottles are collected and recycled, and they use real cups and glasses instead of disposal items. They’re even going so far as to experiment with compostable garbage bags as a substitute for the traditional plastic bags.

With Internet access in the room, a work desk, kitchenette and dining table for four people, they offer excellent conditions for a long stay – whether it’s for pleasure or work.
