In 1997, after he took the position of creative director at Louis Vuitton, Jacobs also created the company’s first ready-to-wear clothing line. During his stay at LV, Marc Jacobs had the chance to collaborate with many popular artists, making a name for himself.
Marc by Marc Jacobs was founded in the spring of 2001, as a secondary line.
