What makes for a great hotel experience? The answer to that is complex and often dependent on individual tastes. This means that like London, New York, or Tokyo, Mumbai is a center of culture, adventure, and luxury. People lead busy lives and want to eat quickly and well. A tour of these stands might not be something you can find officially, but it’s definitely worth your time. You can also use this time to view the city’s unique mix of architectural styles, such as the UNESCO site known for some of the finest Art Deco buildings in the world. 

Otherwise, Mumbai is a city of music and performance. You can find contemporary Hindi, Marathi, and Indi-pop music in niche locations in town. Both the Bombay Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of India make their home in Mumbai. International acts, especially rock, pop, and r&b stars from America are popular here as well. Mumbai is also home to many festivals, a side-benefit to being home to a number of religions. There are city-wide celebrations for Diwali, Holi, Christmas, Durga Puja, and dozens of others.

The rooms at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai are where most people stay in the hotel. You can get them with one or two beds, ranging in size from singles to king. Each room features a workstation with broadband high-speed internet access, but guests have access to free wifi anywhere in the hotel. Each room comes with a 40-inch television with cable and on-demand services. The rooms feature spacious bathrooms with separate bath and shower facilities. Both tea and coffee are provided to every guest, but if you want something sweeter or boozier there is a fully-stocked minibar. Each room also comes with a two-line telephone ideal for conference calls in comfort.

If you’re in Mumbai for an extended period of time, you might want to consider staying in one of the 111 fully-furnished apartments. They are great for groups as well, because you can get as many as three bedrooms in a single apartment. Every unit features living rooms and dining rooms, as well as a kitchen for preparing food. Though, with all of the dining options in the hotel, you probably won’t be cooking. The apartments are fully-furnished. Some of the apartments also feature an attached, private veranda offering views of both the Grand Hyatt Mumbai courtyard or the Mumbai skyline.

The premier suites at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai offer all of the amenities of the standard room. However, they are more spacious. A standard room is about 400-450 square feet, while the suites range from 500 square feet up to 1800 square feet. The suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of other the city or the garden on the 12-acre grounds of the Grand Hyatt Mumbai. The extra space is used for dining area or sitting areas in the rooms.

Along with ensuring you are comfortable in your accommodations, a good hotel offers its guests a variety of dining options. The Grand Hyatt Mumbai does this in spades, offering a number of in-hotel restaurants and room service options. However, Mumbai is a marvelous city with great opportunities for dining out as well.

The Grand Hyatt Mumbai offers a number of specialty restaurants in the building. There is Celini for homestyle Italian food, China House for authentic Chinese food, or Soma for traditional Indian food. If you want deli or baked goods, check out the Gourmet Store. If it’s off-hours, you can hit up the Lobby Lounge, which they keep open 24-hours a day. The Grandy Hyatt Mumbai even has a multicuisine buffet known as Fifty-Five East. All of these are great options for a fine dining experience inside of the Grand Hyatt Mumbai. Or you can just roll up to the hotel bar for a drink and some appetizers.

With so many restaurants to choose from, the Grand Hyatt Mumbai kitchens have a plethora of options for room service. Available 24-hours a day for full meals or just some drinks and snacks, you can certainly find something that you’ll want. The Grand Hyatt Mumbai gets few complaints, but the wait time for room service is a consistent one. Still, other than perhaps a slight extended wait, the quality and service is generally well-praised. If you can get out of your room to eat, you should if only for the experience. Still, if you are room-bound, you can still eat great food whenever you want.

Just outside the doors of the Grand Hyatt Mumbai, there are a plethora of eating options for folks who want a taste of the city. Still, as a cultural melting pot, there are options for outdoor dining that you might find in any major city. You can experience fine dining at Romano’s or the Ark Bar. You can experience local cuisine from the Trishna Restaurant or the Lake View Café. From Seafood to Pizza to Barbecue to ethnic flavors from around the globe, you can find it in Mumbai. However, if you want to eat like a local then you should check out the roadside food stalls. The cuisine comes on paper plates or in metal trays, but what they lack in presentation they make up for in local flavor.

If the room is clean, the food is good, and the bed is soft, chances are you are in for a good hotel stay. But everyone has down time, whether you are on a vacation or business trip. So, one other thing to consider are the amenities offered by the hotel. From fitness centers to sundecks, the Grand Hyatt Mumbai wants to keep you entertained.

One of the key features for the Grand Hyatt Mumbai is that it offers thousands of square feet of meeting and event space. They boast one of the largest, fully-wired ballrooms in the city, with no pillars to get in the way. All of the meeting rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, including high-speed connections for video conferencing. They even have two boardrooms suitable for meetings of great importance, or at least to make the person you’re meeting with feel important. The Grand Hyatt Mumbai also offers secretarial services, computer workstations, and rental services for equipment. They can also provide interpreters, if needed. So, while the Grand Hyatt Mumbai is a place to relax, it’s also a place where business gets done.

You may not think of it as such, but Mumbai is a tropical destination. The weather is warm all year, and outside of the rainy season it is always beach weather. Still, if you don’t want to hit the beach, you can still get in some sun and swimming at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai’s two outdoor swimming pools. If you just want to work on your tan or read by the pool, you can lounge on the sundecks. Or you can get into the water, do some laps, or just splash around. Of course, if you use swimming for exercise, then you won’t want to use these pools. No, the fitness center has a pool for that.

Whether you just want to work out or if you want the full-on pampered treatment, the Club Oasis Spa and Salon is for you. The fitness center features a pool, a variety of high-quality exercise equipment, and even personal trainers if you want to get an edge on your workout. There are sports facilities, so you can get a game of basketball, tennis, or volleyball going. You can also get pampered in the salon and spa, including massage, steam rooms, and hairstyling. If you like to keep things simple, you can just work up a sweat on the paved jogging track. 

While not technically an amenity of the hotel, the city of Mumbai is a jewel and one you should explore given the chance. Through the concierge you can embark on a spiritual journey to the many different temples and places of worship in and around the city. The hotel also organizes art tours. While there are plenty of artist showcases in the city, there are actually special art galleries within the hotel featuring art installations by more than dozen local artists. Also, as the financial and urban center of the region if not of the whole country, Mumbai offers shoppers something of a paradise. From street vendors to fine shoppes, you can visit them all. You can also visit the landmarks in the area such as the Diamond Bourse, the Bandra Worli Sea link (a cable-stayed bridge), and the Elephanta Caves.

The customer response to the Grand Hyatt Mumbai is overwhelmingly positive. People are, for the most part, happy with their experiences. When we went digging for negative reviews, we found that some people found that wait times for room service were too long. Others reported feeling as if the staff were too busy to take their concerns seriously. Though, to be clear, for every complaint like this there were dozens of comments praising the service.

Again, it's worth noting that most of the customer reviews for the Grand Hyatt Mumbai are positive. While every hotel has its problems from time to time, they seem to have a great batting average.

The Hotel Suba International is an option for four-star accommodations close to the airport. The hotel has a restaurant and an international buffet spread for guests to peruse. The hotel provides free laundry for guests, and the hotel restaurant prepares individual meals for in-room dining. Each room comes with a flat-screen television, private bathroom, and free tea and coffee. They also offer guests free WiFi and even an iPod dock in the rooms.

If you are looking for a cheaper per-night rate from your hotel, the Regent Hotel Andheri is an option for you. They provide free internet access, free parking, and free workstations in the hotel. They also offer shuttle services, laundry, and currency exchange. The rooms are air-conditioned, feature a flat-screen television and an in-room refrigerator. The hotel is located just a few miles from the beach, a domestic airport, and the largest department store in Mumbai. The hotel features a restaurant where guests can dine, as well as a fully-stocked minibar.
