1. Visit Erdene Zuu

Or, if you’d prefer to walk around their smooth trails with stunning views of the open land, then this is also an option for you. Depending on how long you intend to stay at this National Park, there are so many things for everyone to do. The most traditional way to see the site is mountain biking. Rent a bike to explore the area. Alternatively, try horse-back riding if you’d prefer a more cultural and historical experience.
Finally, you can live like the locals at this National Park, or make the experience your own. The main bus departs from Ulaanbaatar and takes around three hours to arrive at a local village. Also, consider that you’ll need to pay to get into the National Park – to cover for maintenance.
4. Bayanzag (The Flaming Cliffs)

For example, dinosaur fossils have been found in these areas, and one palaeontologist was the first to discover bones and eggs by dinosaurs. As a result, you never know what you’ll find out here – or at least it’s an exciting part of the world to be.
How you choose to reach The Flaming Cliffs is completely up to you, although many visitors like to opt for a more traditional transportation method on a camel’s back. Standing alone is a vast open space with only the sky and open land amongst you, this can be slightly intimidating for some. We must point out that visiting The Family Cliffs isn’t a quick experience, and certainly shouldn’t be rushed. Don’t just spend a few hours here, as you won’t get the full experience. 5. Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa)
If you’re searching for the best and most unique things to do in Mongolia, we highly recommend visiting the Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa). If you search for images and videos of this, you’ll appreciate that it resembles an ancient city. In fact, there’s nowhere else in the world which looks like this. Its unique and capturing qualities make this one of the best places to visit in the world. Located around 420km from Ulaanbaatar, it can be difficult to get to, although it’s not impossible. The highest point of these ruins is 30 metres and it’s around 400 meters long. If you love exploring ruins and areas of the world which are mildly untouched, then we highly recommend visiting here.
Amongst exploring it, you’ll notice that there’s an array of open water which flows throughout the walls to create a huge waterfall. Once you reach this point, you’ll be amazed at this natural beauty right before your eyes. However, don’t be intimidated that you’ll be unsupervised as there are organized trips with highly-trained guides offering their experience and time to take tourists around the area.
Once you arrive at this unbelievable part of the world, there are many things to do and explore here. Firstly, indulge in hiking, horse riding or camel riding. There are numerous trials and different areas for you to investigate, so every moment offers a new opportunity. Finally, this impressive land is certainly one of the most unique things you’ll see in the world. The cliffs have eroded, although still offer many beautiful angles to see. With over 10 million years in history, there are so many different colours and layers to see up close.
